Disposal Information
There are many scrap metal yards through the Twin Cities metro area that accept scrap metal for recycling and will pay money for items dropped off. Refer to your local telephone directory for a scrap metal yard near you.Some county drop-off facilities also accept scrap metal for recycling. The following county drop-off facilities accept scrap metal for recycling free of charge. All non-metal parts must be removed prior to drop-off.
- Carver County Environmental Center in Chaska
- Dakota County Eco-Site in Eagan
- Hennepin County Drop-off facility in Brooklyn Park
- Hennepin County Drop-off facility in Bloomington
- Hennepin County Freeway Transfer Station in Burnsville
For residents in Anoka, Ramsey and Washington Counties, contact your county solid waste management office.
Scrap metal is also accepted for recycling at many municipal recycling centers and collection events. Contact your city or town for more information.
