March 2008

April 22, 2008 is Earth Day, a day we all try to do a little something to help protect the planet. But what if we all did a little something every day? The Order of the Green Guardian has developed a calendar to keep track of all the good things you do for the Earth.

Before starting this activity, be sure to get permission and ask for help.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • The Green Guardian's Calendar to Protect the Earth, available for download here.
  • Something to write with

WHAT YOU DO

  1. There are four things listed on this calendar, and two blank spots. Think of two more things you can do every day to help protect the earth, and write them in these blanks.
  2. Place the calendar somewhere your entire family can see it, for example on the refrigerator.
  3. Give yourself a star for each good deed you do for the Earth.
  4. For more information on these and other ideas, check out reduce.org.

At the end of the week, count your stars! You have done a great job helping to protect the planet this week. Keep up the great work by using the calendar every month!
