African Refugee Support Services - educate youth and adults to promote waste reduction in culturally-appropriate ways
What did they do?
African Refugee Support Services trained Somali girls, boys, and women in waste reduction strategies specific to their cultural norms (such as proper food storage). The youth educated other families in their apartment buildings about what they learned. ARSS also posted an ad in the area's Somali newspaper to teach the community at-large about these issues.
What can you do?
