This project will divert 50% of food waste from this Stillwater school's kitchen and model composting and
vermicomposting for 100 families of the K-8 grade students. 159 students will learn about composting and
compost their lunchroom scraps one day per week and their snack scraps every day for the year. They will be
strongly encouraged to bring snacks in reusable containers. The 100 families will receive composting
information and participate in a composting demonstration project to promote backyard composting.
