Consider an Alternative
Before disposing of a tire, consider retread and reuse options. Motorists have used retread tires safely for many years. Retreading saves valuable resources, avoids disposal costs for many businesses, and reduces the price of new tires by as much as 30-50%.Resources & Links
Disposal Information
Tire retailers are required to accept the return of one used tire for each new tire purchased. A service fee may be charged.
For larger quantities of tires, contact a licensed waste tire
transporter or haul tires to a permitted waste tire processing
facility. When hiring a transporter, verify its Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency (MPCA) transporter identification number. For more
information on tire transporters or licensed disposal sites, contact
the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) at (651) 296-6300.
